Pecans in Nebraska? Yes, and although they are not new, Twin Springs Pecans has created the largest commercial pecan operation in Nebraska. To our knowledge, we are also the most northern commercially viable pecan orchard. Our specially grafted trees produce a higher quality nut that is naturally sweet and contains a high oil content. This is good since pecan oil is considered one of the "healthy" oils--those that are rich in monounsaturated fats and known to reduce the risk of heart disease.

Twin Springs Pecans is part of Willnerd Family Farms. Charlie Willnerd, the patriarch of the operation, was not the first to grow pecans in Nebraska. With the foundation of what was the purview of hobbyists and researchers, Charlie experimented with irrigation, fertilization, and varietals in developing production quality orchards.

Of course, with every product, the proof is in the pudding. Our ever-increasing clientele includes nut aficionados--some of whom are "southern" transplants who were skeptical at first. Our quality is also established by the fact that we sell to local craft bakeries and restaurants who prefer our nuts over others they have obtained through brokers. We believe our nuts are as good or better than any produced in the United States. If you are not completely satisfied, return the unused portion for a full refund.

Despite the fact that we are the "largest" operation in Nebraska, that does not mean we are a "large operation." We remain a small family farm and orchard. Although we are continuing to increase the number of trees in production, our nuts do sell out over the course of the year. The good news is because we also process our nuts on our property, they are usually back in stock shortly after harvest in the fall!
